Born in Harare (then Salisbury), Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) on 10 Jan 1946. Attended the Umtali Boys' High School. Bertram David2Was awarded BSc Agriculture degree in 1970 by the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg. Employed as a Research Chemist by the Ministry of Agriculture in Harare 1970 -1972. Married Maureen Connell in 1972. Employed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in various places in Zimbabwe from 1972 to 1982, ending as a District Commissioner. Attended St Paul's Theological College in 1983 and 1984. Ordained as a Deacon at St Mary's Church, Highlands, Harare in 1985, and as a Priest in 1986. Awarded a Diploma in Theology in 1986, having studied through St Paul's College and the TEE College. Was installed as Rector of St Peter's Church, Mabelreign, Harare in 1987 and as Rector of Christ Church, Borrowdale, Harare in 1998. Was awarded BA Hons in Biblical Studies degree from the University of Zimbabwe in 1991. Maureen died in 2004. In 2005 I became the Rector of Christchurch, Polokwane, and in 2009 I became the Pastor of the Hoedspruit Community Church. Married Cecile Schantz in 2010. I have three children from my first marriage and two step-daughters from my marriage to Cecile. I have been active member of the Third Order of the Society of St Francis since 1989. My interests include writing short stories and photography.
